Class will be held held at EUR campus Woudestein and will start on May 3rd at 16h00.
Did you know that 6 out of 10 zoomers (Gen Z) believe it's important to actively engage and use their voice to create change and make a difference? And according to a survey by Cone Communications, 93% of consumers are more likely to buy from a company that supports a cause they care about.
So, not only will advocacy skills make you a valuable asset to any company, but it'll also allow you to stand up for what you believe in and create real change!
With our 6-week Influencing for Change course (previously Advocacy Academy), you'll learn how to create a step-by-step powerful and strategic campaign and become an influencer in your community. To finish the course, we will help you stand up for what you care about: you will get 50 euros of funding to turn your campaign into reality.
You will meet your trainer and set a comfortable group. You will kickstart your campaign on a topic you feel passionate about. You will explore the basics of goal setting and strategy development.
We will critically analyse news sources and create a well-established fact sheet for your cause. How do you know if something is true? Since knowledge is power, we will evaluate media sources and access truth despite misinformation.
You will be exploring more about your cause, your own project, your target group of supporters, and how to connect with them. You will also practice pitching your cause and project to the different groups of supporters you want to attract.
It's time to convince those who still have doubts. As an advocate, you will constantly be confronted with points of difference. We will explore the arts of negotiation and persuasive communication to come to an agreement.
It is one thing to learn fundamental theories, but it is another to listen to real experiences of successful advocates of change. Therefore, you will have the chance to meet one great example from the Netherlands.
In the final week, we will make your passion project ready for execution. Next to presenting your campaign to your fellow group members, you will implement the skills learnt to make an impactful change now!

Julia is a 2nd year of Management of International Social Challenges. She believes that advocacy is very much needed, especially in our times. Our interconnected world requires us to maintain an open dialogue with one another to solve global issues. Her passion is to contribute to that and to never stop learning along the way. In one on one conversations, Julia is rather a listener than a talker. So be ready to get asked a lot of questions when you see each other.
Small parts of some sessions might be recorded, or screenshots of the zoom calls might be taken for communication, education and/or marketing purposes.
It's full. But it will be back!
