Class will be held at EUR campus Woudestein and will start on March 9th at 18h30.
Did you know that Improv skills go beyond the stage and can directly impact your life and career? Studies have shown that Improv training can improve communication and collaboration skills, increase creativity and adaptability, and even enhance public speaking abilities!
In fact, a survey by Forbes found that 72% of employers believe that the ability to work in a team is the most important soft skill for employees to have. And, where do you think those team building and collaboration skills are honed? You guessed it - through Improv!
This 6-week course provides a safe and fun space to train several important skills. You will train your wit and your ability to think (and act!) quickly on the spot. You will also boost your creativity and your flexibility in various situations. This course is ideal for people looking for a way to boost several skills while having a lot of fun on the way.
You'll meet your instructor, find a place within the group and experience the world of improvisation and theatre for the first time. You'll learn techniques that make acting in front of others easier.
In this session, you will learn how to use your body language effectively to express yourself. You will find out how your body language affects how others perceive you and how you can use body language in improvisation, for example to build a character or express big emotions.
Your voice was made for others to hear! It's time to learn how to regulate your voice and use it to enhance your acting. You will learn about some exercises and tools that might be useful both on stage and in your daily life.
How does your brain work when you’re put on the spot? You will find your own style of association, learn how quickly you can create an interesting story, and learn how to embrace randomness in improvisation.
In this session, you will learn how to build consistency in longer improvisation formats (long-form improv). You will also prepare your final performance.
Are you ready to shine? In your last session, you will face one last challenge: doing improv in front of a live audience. You will also be reflecting on your growth and receive your final feedback.
If you want to work on your communication and creativity skills while discovering the world of improv theatre, and get out of your comfort zone, this course is for you. Needless to say, the creative freedom of this course will allow you to meet great people and have lots of fun.
It was always the highlight of my week. The group was a fun bunch of international students and we all definitely went outside of our comfort zone. Our teacher was very well prepared. I can highly recommend the course if you want to try out something new.

Passionate about helping others, she has built her experience as a trainer and facilitator over the past few years. On Fridays and Saturdays you can find her studying theatre at the Maastricht Institute of Performing Arts – and during the week, she is ready to help you take your skills to the next level!
