Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction will be back in September 2021!

Our last cohort of the academic year is over, but don't be sad, we are coming back in September 2021 to start the new academic year 2021-2022 infused with mindfulness!

Cope with stress, prevent a burnout!

Created in collaboration with Maujha, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction is designed to help you to cope with stress, pain, and the challenges of everyday life. You will learn how to be fully present, alive in the moment and different meditation techniques. 
Week 1: Getting started with MBSR - Introduction MBSR Research Summary and the Body Scan

You'll meet your instructor and establish a comfortable group.  We will start with an introduction to what mindfulness is, its effectiveness and what it does. First meditation session.

Week 2: Attention & the Brain Introduction to Sitting Meditation

You will get insight in workings of the brain to show how meditation transforms brain structures and first long meditation

Week 3: Stress: Responding vs. Reacting

You will understand how you communicate with yourself and others and learn to that more mindfully.

Week 4: STOP: The one-minute breathing space

You will learn how stress works, what it does to the body and how they can become aware of it before it actually harms their body.

Week 5:  Dealing with Difficult Emotions or Physical Pain Turning Toward

You will learn how to refocus their current approach to discomforting emotions or feelings through mediation practice.

Week 6: Mindfulness and Compassion Lovingkindness Meditation

You will learn how to give yourself love and others, you will learn how to be self-compassionate and they finish the course.


Who is this course for?

Statistics show that 17.3% of young people in the Netherlands report serious burnout complaints. Dealing with disturbing events with grace and composure will help you regain a sense of control, calmness, peace and happiness.

Our first cohort was completed by 11 participants, who gave an average rating of 9.2 overall course satisfaction.

Attending the Mindfulness course was a great decision. Learning about the interconnection of mind and body at the same time as using different meditation techniques created a very insightful time. It led me to groundbreaking realisations that influence me positively on a daily basis.

Sabrina Jammy       

Is a certified mindfulness teacher at her own pop up mindfulness studio called Maujha in Rotterdam. She is a communications graduate and is currently doing a degree in Psychology. Her aim is to combine eastern and western psychology to create the perfect combination of tools to teach and help people surf the waves of their emotions and thoughts. She has been meditating for over seven years and she has been teaching mindfulness for two years now. During this course you will learn scientifically proven tools to help you manage your thoughts and emotions in a constructive way. Come sit with her and feel the magic of mindfulness for yourself.

The course

The courses will be taught via Zoom. Your teacher will send you the Zoom link before the lessons

In addition to the 12 hours of class, you are supposed to put into practice different techniques over the weeks, it will all depend on how much time you want to put in. The more time you invest in this course, the more you will get out of it!

In addition to the theoretical aspect of the course, all LifeVersity courses are hands-on on theory, after all, soft skills are developed by practicing them. So, yes! There will be plenty of time each class dedicated to practicing mindfulness.

Yes, you will get our beautiful MBSR certificate in PDF format. You need to attend the 5 out of 6 weeks of class, complete the final assignment and fill-out the end of the program survey. The certificate will be sent by the end of April.

Conditions to apply

You can sign up for any of our available courses until March 1st at midnight. You just need to fill up the form. We will contact you to confirm your participation in the course. Spots are limited. For this cohort, we will keep it simple: first come, first served.

Because of the current situation, all of our courses are hold fully online through the CANVAS platform, therefore you need to be an EUR students or fresh alumni with a valid ERNA ID.
