This 6-week training program will be held once a week, fully online.

Starting on the week of November 2nd:

Online Zoom sessions will take place on Thursdays at 17h00 or Fridays at 16h00.

Statistics show that 17.3% of young people in The Netherlands report serious burnout complaints. Dealing with disturbing events with grace and composure will help you regain a sense of control, calmness, peace and happiness.

Mindfulness-based stress reduction is a free 6-week training program, with the ultimate goal to help you cope with stress, pain, and the challenges of everyday life.
Week 1: Getting started with MBSR - Introduction MBSR Research Summary and the Body Scan

You'll meet your instructor and establish a comfortable group.  We will start with an introduction to what mindfulness is, its effectiveness and what it does. First meditation session.

Week 2: Attention & the Brain Introduction to Sitting Meditation

You will get insight in workings of the brain to show how meditation transforms brain structures and first long meditation

Week 3: Stress: Responding vs. Reacting

You will understand how you communicate with yourself and others and learn to that more mindfully.


Week 4: STOP: The one-minute breathing space

You will learn how stress works, what it does to the body and how they can become aware of it before it actually harms their body.

Week 5:  Dealing with Difficult Emotions or Physical Pain Turning Toward

You will learn how to refocus their current approach to discomforting emotions or feelings through mediation practice.

Week 6: Mindfulness and Compassion Lovingkindness Meditation

You will learn how to give yourself love and others, you will learn how to be self-compassionate and they finish the course.

MEET OUR TRAINERS

Our team of trainers consist of experienced teachers. Each group will have a dedicated trainer that will lead you throughout the whole program.

Sabrina Jammy       

Is a certified mindfulness teacher at her own pop up mindfulness studio called Maujha in Rotterdam. She is a communications graduate and is currently doing a degree in Psychology. Her aim is to combine eastern and western psychology to create the perfect combination of tools to teach and help people surf the waves of their emotions and thoughts. She has been meditating for over seven years and she has been teaching mindfulness for two years now. During this course you will learn scientifically proven tools to help you manage your thoughts and emotions in a constructive way. Come sit with her and feel the magic of mindfulness for yourself.

These sessions will last on average 2h.

EUR has a policy for blended education during term 1 and 2. While some of our courses will have offline and online version, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction will take place on campus Woudestein.

Conditions to apply

You can sign up for any of our courses from August 31st to September 11st. You just need to fill up the form. We will contact you to confirm your participation in the course. Selection will be done based on motivation.

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction is open to EUR students, fresh EUR alumni and Hogeschool Rotterdam students.
