Do you want to stop using only 10% of your brain?🧠 We have bad news for you. This 10% is a myth and an exaggerated oversimplification. The good news. You are already using all of our brain! But usually only a small part of it can be active at a time.
In this masterclass, we will explore how to use the limited capacity of our brain to its full potential. This course won’t be only useful for university but also for your long term career and personal development, as effective learning is one of the most useful skills you can master.
In this 5-session masterclass, we will experience and practice 10+ evidence based learning techniques and strategies based on two decades of research on effective learning interventions. With this you’ll build your own learning strategy toolbox and you’ll be able to pick what strategy is most effective for any given study situation.
In this session you will get to know your group and trainer. Understand how our brain learns and memorizes information and what are limitations of. Furthermore you’ll experience the first exercises that can help you with learning more effectively.
In this session you’ll better understand yourself and reflect on how you can activate your learning potential. Furthermore you’ll create personal learning principles of self-regulated learning and building a right learning mindset.
You’ll discover tangible learning strategies that you can immediately apply to your study. First, you’ll use mnemonic techniques that’ll help you memorise information lightning fast, as well as practice with effective strategies for note taking, summarising, reading, and others.
We will further practice with learning strategies, now focusing more on organising information such as structuring, clustering, and outlining strategies as well as metacognitive strategies such as self-testing, evaluating, and adjusting strategies.
In the last lesson we’ll go beyond the learning at university and explore the role of learning in your personal and professional development, as well as your future career. Lastly, you’ll create a personal learning plan utilizing learning from the course.
