Class will be held at EUR campus Woudestein and will start on November 7th at 16h00.
Content creation and media keep changing. Your phone is your basic tool and free-pass into the world of content creation. Do you want to try something new and test the waters? Public speaking for the digital world means you need to adapt to several digital formats to get your message across. It also means you need to put your media literacy in practice.
This 6-week course will help you explore, analyze and create media content in different formats such as social media videos, podcasts and to develop those presenting and interviewing skills. This course is ideal for people that have either taken our Public Speaking Fundamentals course, or have previous experience with public speaking, as well as an interest in the world of media.
You'll meet your trainer, establish a comfortable group, goals and rules. You will also learn about media literacy, how to analyse media content and we will start prepping for your final assignment.
Ever dreamed of having your own show? We will go from concept, to production plan, to be ready to record. You will train your interviewing skills to get you ready to lead your own podcast.
Time to take the lead. You will experience how to record a 20-min podcast live and put your interviewing skills to test with a guest or co-hosting a podcast.
You'll get introduced to different speech styles and rhetorical tools that you can apply to your speech. We will prepare the first draft of the script you will record.
Time to charm the camera. You will experience how to record a video with the help of a teleprompter in the Education Lab.
Time to play with long and short form content. Can you produce a 10 minute and promote it with a 1 minute clip? Get ready for the social media challenge!
New platforms, new types of content: endless possibilities. With the rise of websites like Youtube, and apps such as Spotify, Instagram or TikTok; we are living in an era when content creation is on our finger tips.
I was put in the shoes of a professional interviewer, reporter, news anchor, podcast maker and even a public figure giving a speech. After those imaginative, fun and supportive sessions I feel like my uneasiness of talking to the camera completely vanished!
